此外，更换的新学校必须同时满足以下条件：

  • 是官方承认为DLI的机构
  • 未被列入“暂停录取学校名单”中

不同情况需对应流程——是否需要申请新许可？

以下为依据学习阶段不同，进行学校或课程变更时的申请要求概览：

  • 小学 ↔️ 中学： 若学习许可仍在有效期内，大多数情况无需申请新许可，除非有特别限制条件。
  • 中学 → 高等教育： 必须申请新的学习许可。
  • 高等教育 → 中学： 同样需新的学习许可。
  • 高等教育DLI内部转专业或转校区： 若学习许可仍有效，并符合原签证条件，则一般无需更换。
  • 高等教育DLI之间变更： 无论是否同城市，均需重新申请学习许可。

如何申请更换高等教育DLI（指定学习机构）

若您的留学申请尚未获批，您可透过IRCC网路表单，更换录取通知书并附上新省/地区授权信函。

若已持有效学习许可，需重新申请以变更DLI，申请时需提供：

  1. 解释为何更换学校的说明信
  2. 符合学签条件的相关证明文件（例如新的录取通知书、财务证明等）

如果您参与的是合作教育（Co-op）课程，变更院校时必须同时重新申请合作工作许可。

重要注意事项：电子验证、项目暂停名单

加拿大学习许可持有者有可能收到IRCC发出的信息验证邮件（以 @cic.gc.ca 结尾），提醒提供在读证明，请务必及时响应。

若您的前DLI出现以下任一情况，您可在新许可审批期间开始新学校学习：

  • 学校永久关闭
  • 课程/计划暂停
  • DLI资质被暂停

魁北克省特殊要求及CAQ相关信息

若您计划转学至魁北克地区，您通常需要获取新的魁北克接纳证明（CAQ）。但在职业教育中心（VTCs）之间转学例外，通常无需更新学习许可或CAQ。

若您在魁北克省内变更教育机构、课程或阶段，记得提前与魁北克移民部（MIFI）联络以获取明确指引。

Documents you need

When you apply for your study permit extension, you must include

  • a letter explaining why you’re changing schools
  • a new, valid PAL/TAL, unless you meet one of the exceptions
    • Make sure to get a new PAL/TAL before you submit your application.
    • This is a new requirement as of January 22, 2025.
  • documents that prove that you meet the criteria below, if you believe you meet the criteria to begin studying at the new DLI while your new application is in progress

If your current application is already in progress, you can submit these documents via the IRCC web form.

When you can start studying at your new DLI

You can only start studying at your new school while waiting for a decision on your study permit extension application if you meet the following criteria:

  • you stayed in Canada since you received your letter of acceptance (LOA) from the new DLI and
  • you continue to meet the conditions of your previous study permit and
  • before you completed your course or program of study, you find yourself in one of the following situations with the previous DLI:
    • it closed
    • it discontinued the course or program of study
    • it was placed on the suspension list or
    • it lost its designated status

If you do not meet these criteria, you should plan to apply for and get your extended study permit for your new DLI before finishing your studies at your current DLI.

If you change schools and don’t tell us

Your old school will report you as not being registered or enrolled to study. If this happens

  • you’re breaking the conditions of your study permit
  • your study permit may become invalid unless you are in one of the situations noted above
  • you may have your study permit cancelled
  • you may be asked to leave the country or change your status
  • this may prevent you from coming to Canada in the future
    • For example, you may not be approved for another study or work permit in the future.
